SerpentScribe.net
Welcome to SerpentScribe.net. My name is Kusani, and this is my home on the web.
To your left, you'll find some links to various sites and blogs that I maintain outside of this domain. Up above, you'll find the four main sections of this site. Be forewarned: this site is huge and is under construction until further notice.
But, moving right along. Let me point out the major landmarks of my territory.
Den
The Den is personal. Here, you'll find a lot about me, including some things involving spirituality and identity that may be controversial or potentially offensive to some. Understand that I mean to offend no one, but also understand that this is
my place, my territory, and I'm not going to censor myself. Den contains a lot of essays involving paganism and therianthropy, as well as more mundane things like funny animal stories, blog/livejournal icons, and a personal biography.
Bestiary
The Bestiary and its included counterpart, the Planetarium, comprise a giant virtual encyclopaedia of my creatures and my worlds. I am a writer and a minor artist, and I have well over two hundred individual species of all kinds; I know their cultures, their technology, and their homeworlds and/or nations. I share this part of my site with my sister,
Ekunyi; the Bestiary and the Planetarium include her worlds and creatures as well as mine, and a few that are "shared" between us. This section of the site is constantly being expanded and revamped; expect things to change often and abruptly.
Glyphs
As I mentioned, I'm a writer. A novelist, as a matter of fact, though I have quite a few short stories, a few poems of personal worth, and a lot of mini-series. Glyphs houses all of my works of fiction, largely in the genres of fantasy, science fiction, and sci-fantasy. The majority of my writing involves creatures, aliens, or shapeshifters, and I am fond of writing with gritty realism. Any warnings for excess violence or sexuality are posted with the appropriate stories. Some works include illustrations or related artwork.
Generators
As a web designer and amateur game designer, I have a tendency to pick up website- or code-related hobbies. Making generators is one such hobby I adopted years ago, back before I knew much of anything. Inspired by Steven Savage's work on
Seventh Sanctum, I modified his open-source code to create random generators with javascript. The basic premise is this: you click a button, and a random text blurb is generated in the box. This blurb could be a story plot, a name, the description of a character, the basic appearance of a creature or plant, or so on. I have over sixty generators; some are old and others are simplistic, but all in all, they're fun. And even useful, from time to time.
